Welcome to my blog for readers and writers! Please stay a while
and post your thoughts and comments.
I have high hopes for the site but need your help to accomplish
the goals I have in mind. I’m not interested in just recording what I’m doing
or thinking as in: “It’s all about me, wonderful me,” blah, blah, blah. Borrr-ing.
I am interested in connecting with
compulsive readers of all genres, other writers and those who know or are
interested in learning the ins and outs of the publishing industry.
I want this to be a place for readers to talk about the books that matter to them and why, which writers they cherish and return to again and
again and, yes, those they’d rather never read again. (Are you listening, John Barth? Still Lost in the Funhouse? I’ll send you my piece, “Pissed Modernism or I Never Metafiction I Admired”).
And, writers: Let’s talk about our work and share our triumphs and disappointments. Let’s consider craft and techniques. Suggest prompts and exercises. And, let’s look at the business side of things, too: writing a query letter, honing a pitch, finding an agent, working with an editor, building a platform and submitting to lit mags and contests.
I’d also like to swap thoughts about Writers’ Conferences – what
worked, what didn’t, whether you’d recommend a particular one to others. I
loved my time at Wildacres and my next few postings will be about the San
Miguel Writers Conference in San Miguel de Allende which I will attend this
week. Next month, I’ll write about the New York Pitch Conference which I’ll
also be attending. Please check in for daily posts.
And, no, I haven’t forgotten that the blog is called “Books. Sex. Food. What Else Matters?” Believe me, I’ll get to the latter two in posts to come.

I bow to my brilliant friend, and look forward to learning and sharing information about "Books.Sex.Food." Congratulations
